An original song based on a family story told to me by both my mother, from her perspective as a 5 year old at the time, and by my great-grandmother.

SETTLED DOWN HERE IN HAMILTON
GOT HIMSELF A JOB DELIVERING THE MAIL
TOOK A LITTLE PAUSE FOR WORLD WAR ONE
FOUR LONG YEARS IN A BLOODY TRENCH
SITTIING AND READING THOSE LETTERS FROM HOME
STANDING UP TO SHOOT FROM AN OLD WOOD BENCH
